Honfleur I
This painting is now Sold.
Honfleur II
'Honfleur II' Normandy. This original watercolour, ink and collage composition reflects the impact and colours I experienced in a stopover in Honfleur. I spent the whole day sketching this scene, the tall houses and cafes, boats and parasols. I used pre painted and torn watercolours, news print and hand dyed papers to make the collage.

Derbyshire

Over Birchen Head
This view looking Westwards from Hare Edge belies its connections with its past. Behind the trees stands the magnificent Chatsworth House and iconic Capability Brown landscape and gardens. The dull lighting on this day seems to make the colours more impressive in the contrasting natural landscape. This abstract, impressionist view is in watercolours with torn paper collage and ink on 600g watercolour paper. It is 28cm x 28cm and mounted and glazed in a hand finished distressed white frame.
Big Moor

Shivering Cliff
Mam Tor is an icon of the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire. The words mean ‘Mother Hill’. It stands 517m high over the Edale Valley. It’s ‘Shivering Cliff’ face is a beautiful feature, created by the loose and shiny mica-rich shales that are exposed as a result of landslip. It’s a beautiful ‘mountain’ to sketch, it’s silhouette is distinctive and unforgettable.

The design of this Manor House is said to have influenced the style of Hampton Court. The atmosphere in this picture reflects the hidden location of this impressive building. The gate is as far as you can go with out prior permission adding to its mystery and enchantment.
